DR. MARIO A. TRELLES

DR. MARIO A. TRELLES is the Medical Director of Vilafortuny Medical Institute. Cambrils (Tarragona) –Spain. This Institute is a Laser Reference Centre in the EC and participates in the EC Project, "Training Centres for Laser Applications in Medicine (EUREKA EU642 Stilmed, Safety in Medicine).

 

He finished his studies (1971) in Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the National University of Barcelona-Spain, and he Specialized in General Surgery and in Plastic-Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgery, both in Autonomous University of Barcelona –Spain in 1977.

 

He later took up a Doctorate (PhD) in Medicine and Surgery /(Doctor Cum Laude) by the University of Seville–Spain (1988) and passed the American Board Certificate in Laser Surgery and Medicine In Aesthetic Plastic Surgery –USA 2001). He authored 3 books on Laser Application In Medicine And Surgery and Editor of Lasers in Tumour Therapy.

 

This book summarizes the European Community Concerted Action Programme in Lasers for Cancer: Lasers in Medicine and Surgery Investigation and Development And author of over 250 articles in national and international journals. Co-author of various books devoted to laser advances in medicine and surgery (chapters).  He is involved as a Member of so many with so many international societies.

 

At present, he is the President of the European Society For Laser Aesthetic Surgery (ESLAS), President of the Spanish Society for Laser in Medicine and Surgery (SELMQ), Administrative Council Member of the European Laser Association (ELA), and of The International Society for Laser Surgery and Medicine (ISLSM.Council member, World Anti-ageing Medical Association (WAMA)
