DR.
LEONARDO LONGO, MD, is the Head of Institute for Laser
Medicine of Florence (I.L.M.),
Professor of Laser Medicine and Surgery of Siena
University and Republic of San Marino University, Visitor
Researcher Professor of Bethesda University,
Founding President of the International Academy for
Laser Medicine and Surgery, Fellow
of 24 Scientific Societies,
founding and honour member of 4 Scientific Societies,
President-elect of the International Society of Laser
Medicine and Surgery for the year 2005-2007. Dr. Longo
studies and uses the biological and surgical effects of
laser and intense light on human tissue, especially on the
skin, vein, nerve, muscle, tendon, connective tissue, stem
cells and keloids, for wound healing and scars remodeling,
diabetes and metabolic diseases, and for cutting and
coagulation. Dr. Longo
collected until 2004 more than 50 meeting titles and
scientific publications, more than 15 treatises, 200 meeting
papers, is Editor of Laser Florence SPIE Proceedings, since
1999 until today and also President of Laser Florence Annual
Congress.
